Flooding in Surrey B.C.
The Municipality of Surrey spent four-milloin dollars in upgrades on flood prevention measures. The City also experienced over 100mm of rainfall in the first 55 days of 2020. In 2019 there were 184mm of rain and 2020 producing 294mm. This lead to drainage systems in some areas around the Greater Vancouver Area to overflow and to seep into local farmland. I spoke with Prabjot Sanghera a local farm owner whose property rests on the banks of the Serpentine River drainage system.
